TEACHERS’ WORKSHOP


JALTAP organized  Japanese Language Teacher’ Workshop on August 24, 2012 from 10 am to 4 pm.Japan Foundation’s  Prof.Tanabe (Language Advisor  for West India) conducted the workshop.

It was about how to make the students speak in Japanese. After introduction of the topic in his unique Interesting style, Prof.Tanabe  explained many fine points about the art of making your students  speak in Japanese.About 50 to 60 teachers from Pune, Sangli, Nashik, Kolhapur participated in the workshop. About 7-8 native Japanese also participated in the workshop.

In the first half, Prof.Tanabe explained about various  essential elements   required to teach spoken Japanese.In the second half, the teachers  formed  7 to 8 groups of 5 to 6 teachers each.The groups were given two themes to speak about.One theme was how you will explain to the listener/s about your Cell Phone and convince the listener/s that your mobile is the best and most convenient. The other task was to build a story from 4 pictures.The teachers performed both the tasks with lot of enthusiasm and interaction. There was lot of laughter and joy.The teachers learned lot of things about teaching Japanese Language while enjoying the process.

After the workshop, Mr.Suhas MATE, president of JALTAP appealed to all the teachers to participate in the “BENKYOU-KAI”  to be held  soon.He also asked them to train and prepare themselves for Remote Teaching / Virtual Classroom Training Methodology  which will enable students in remote cities like Khed (Ratnagiri District) and  rural area to start learning  Japanese Language.

Mrs.Meena Hunnurkar , Treasurer of JALTAP, gave a small present to Ms.Mikuni of Japan Foundation on behalf of all participants.
Dr.Hari Damle gave a small present to Prof.Tanabe to convey respect to prof.Tanabe from all the participating teachers.

At the end, Prof.Tanabe himself gave away certificates to all teachers.
