Achievements of JALTAP
- Number of students appearing for JLPT from Pune center has
increased for 375 to About 2600 in 15 years.
- Conducted National level workshop in Pune for Japanese
languages teachers in Department of Foreign Languages, University
of Pune in February, 1994
- About 12 seminars and workshops were organized for teachers
till date.
- Two teachers were sent to Teachers’ training program at the
Japan Foundation, Tokyo.
- A workshop was organized for sharing the knowledge gained by
the participants of Teachers’ Training Course, with the local
teachers.
- To encourage teachers by felicitating them for their
contribution to promotion of Japanese language through their
teaching and cultural activities. Under this program, senior
teachers (Dr. Hari Damle, Dr. V. N. Kinkar and Ms. Rohini Gangal)
were felicitated for their valuable contribution in promoting
Japanese Language, on Teachers’ day (September 5, 2002).
Recent activities
- Series of workshops on Teaching Methodology, led by
Prof. Tanabe
JALTAP has also started a series of Workshops on Japanese Language
Teaching Methodology. One workshop is organized per month for
Japanese language teachers in Pune and other places like Mumbai,
Nasik, Aurangabad and other cities from Maharashtra. Prof. Tanabe
from The Japan Foundation has conducted two such workshops with
the help of local teachers. It had overwhelming response from the
teachers. In addition to the monthly workshops, The Japan
Foundation from New Delhi sends some teachers about 2 times in a
year to conduct workshops for our teachers. Recent appointments at
